Ahead of the release of ‘The Bouquet’ EP in April, Belfast composer and producer Amerik has teamed up with Little Rivers (Callum Cairns) on a brand new track ‘Apricot’, which drops tomorrow (Friday).
The latest single comes after the success of recent track ‘Olive’.
Amerik transports the listener into a state of symphonic ambience in his latest collaborative track ‘Apricot’.
Upon a landscape of swelling synths and intricately developed tones and textures, he uses modern production techniques as a backdrop to showcase Cairns’ ethereal vocals.
Blending together compelling production, delicate instrumentation and complex layers, Amerik creates a dream-like haze with such effortless finesse.
“Apricot was birthed out of the opening melody I recorded on my OP-1 synthesizer, and then collaborating with Little Rivers to create this dark, yet joyous song about reflection and moving forward in life,” Amerik explained.
“Little River's voice has this amazing ability to draw you and then reveal this wide openness and beauty.”
Little Rivers added:
“Apricot is about that exact moment following something awful when you feel yourself starting to accept things as they are.
“Amerik, being the wonderful artist that he is, sculpted a gorgeous, dream-like backdrop that balanced perfectly the regret and loss with the celebration of resilience and a brighter future.”
The Bouquet EP is a collaborative project featuring four of the best local songwriters including Gareth Dunlop, Travi The Native, Little Rivers and Pete Wallace, set for release April 2021.
Be sure to keep an eye out for it!
