My guest for this interview is Connor McGowan, who makes music under the name “Ego the Jackal”.
Connor has been a fixture on the Irish music scene for much of the last 20 years, first with his band Skruff, then with his Ego the Jackal project. As Ego the Jackal he has released 2 acclaimed albums "Big Moon" and "Great Ocean Conveyor", as well as the EPs "Dreamer dare fly" and "Torn apart".
After a move to Canada, Connor is back in Derry and working on his next album.
Over the course of our conversation, we charted Connor's musical development and early influence, his career trajectory, the impact of COVID-19 on his music-making, and plans for the future.
